| Code Of Ethics Joy Mlozanowski, MS, CH The organizations in which I maintain certification and membership have each developed a set of ethical standards and they are reflected here, along with my own personal ethics. I believe that every practitioner should share with you his or her Code of Ethics. 1. In the course of living and performing my work, I will do my best to promote and uphold ethical, moral, and professional standards of behavior for myself. I will provide my services with personal and professional integrity, and remain current with discoveries in my field of practice. 2. I will perform all services without bias toward gender, race, ethnic background, religious affiliation, or sexual preference. I will treat all of my clients equally and with respect. 3. I will not allow my personal moral, ethical, or religious preferences to interfere with my client relationships. Each client has his or her own life-path, and I will honor each one's point of view. 4. I will strive to help my clients bring about the change in their lives that they desire. I will do my best to reveal how their past and present actions, attitudes, and beliefs have influenced where they are now and the direction in which their lives are going. 5. I will never claim that my methods are the only way to provide or acheive insight, and I will not encourage client dependency. I will remind my clients of their freedom to make their own choices, and encourage them to think for themselves and accept total responsibility for their lives. 6. I will offer my clients insights and information with the understanding that they will use it at their own discretion. If information is disclosed that indicates a consultation with another professional would be appropriate, I will recommend that my client seek such advice before making any life-changing decisions. My services are not meant to be a diagnostic tool, nor a substitute for psychotherapy. 7. I will not abuse my clients' vulnerability and trust in any manner. I will protect my clients' well-being by not engaging in, nor promoting, any practices or recommendations that could be viewed as detrimental. 8. I will keep ALL written and verbal communications with my clients completely confidential. I will never reveal to third parties any names, addresses or private information regarding people who have contacted me, except when a client has granted specific, written permission to share such information with a third party. (Also see Privacy Policy.) 9. I will advise my clients of the nature, purpose, total cost and duration of any session in advance, and I will maintain reasonable fees with no hidden costs. My fees will reflect my work, as carried out on behalf of my clients, and performed within my professional capacity. I may also provide free or reduced rate services where I feel it is appropriate. 10. I will answer all client questions to the best of my knowledge and ability, including those regarding my services, practices, methods and materials provided through AffinityWorks. |
